Dentist: It’s very difficult to maintain viable NHS practice

An NHS dentist says it is getting “very, very difficult to maintain a viable NHS practice”. Vijay Sudra of Shard End Dental Practice in Birmingham added that, “in real terms, there’s been no cash investment in NHS dentistry” for 16 years. The government is introducing a raft of reforms from April to try and end long waits for emergency care. However, there will be no extra funding for these proposals beyond the £4bn already budgeted for NHS dentistry. Report by Jonesia.
