Turkey Warns Kurdish SDF Is Stalling on Deal With Damascus, Hints at Military Action | APT

Turkey’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) do not appear to be making meaningful progress toward integrating with Syria’s central government, despite a year-end deadline for the agreement.br br Speaking alongside Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shibani in Damascus, Fidan said Turkey expects the SDF to integrate through dialogue and compromise, warning that continued delays threaten Syria’s stability and territorial integrity. He also accused the SDF of coordinating certain activities with Israel, calling it a major obstacle to negotiations with Damascus.br br Syria’s foreign minister echoed the criticism, saying there has been no serious initiative from the SDF to implement the agreement. Turkey, which views the U.S.-backed SDF as a terrorist organization, has warned that military action remains an option if the group fails to comply.br br The visit comes amid regional tensions, stalled negotiations, and growing pressure on the SDF ahead of the year-end deadline.
