Bolivia: Workers' Central Union maintains pressure against Decree 5503

This Thursday, the Bolivian Workers' Central Union (COB) marched in La Paz, continuing its mobilizations against Supreme Decree 5503. The union has now protested uninterrupted for 11 days, demanding the repeal of the measure, which they consider harmful to workers and the popular economy. While a delegation meets with the national government, COB leaders confirmed that protests and hunger strikes will persist, warning that actions will not stop despite upcoming talks scheduled for Monday. The organization reiterated its firm rejection of Decree 5503, denouncing it as a return to neoliberal adjustment policies that sell the country to transnational corporations and private companies.
