In December 2006 the UN General Assembly adopted the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. One of the objectives was to make people with disabilites more visible in society.A band from Australia called Rudely Interrupted took the message literally and have spent the last two years showing the way forward. Five of the six band members have a disability and have had to overcome scepticism and personal hurdles in order to fulfill their dream. Rudely Interrupted are now playing outside Australia for the first time,with the UN building in New Yrok on the tour itinerary.
