Complementing the Contemporary’s fall exhibition, For the blind man in the dark room looking for the black cat that isn’t there, the museum hosted a night allowing St. Louis to explore the notions of chance and curiosity. DJFORTUNE: A Night at CAMSTL was an event filled with exploration, music, and fortune telling. Influenced by “Coffee,” a video installation about a Turkish fortune teller by Ayse Erkmen, Mmmelt, an audiovisual performer, developed a composition specifically for the guests of the event to enjoy while Victoria Michaels communicated with the other side and engaged people in the mysteries of their future. This free event occurred on October 15, 2009 and was open to the public.
