Il travaille pour le producteur Eddie Barclay et devient un des producteurs disco les plus influents des années 70. En 1976, il signe son premier album Love In C-Minor. Par la suite, il enregistre entre autre Cerrone's Paradise, Cerrone 3 : Supernature (1977), Angelina (1979), IX (1982) et Paradise (1996). Après une participation à l'album de Bob Sinclar Champs Elysées, en 2000, il sort Cerrone By Bob Sinclar, en 2001. En 2002, parait Hysteria. En 2006, il livre le disque Orange mécanique.
