Delhi University Teachers' Association held a demonstration outside the Vice-Chancellor's office to protest against the manner of implementation of the semester system by DU V-C Prof. Deepak Pental.br Alleging that the V-C was trying to drive a rift between the Principals and teachers, the DUTA said in a statement that "consistent efforts to persuade the V-C to follow the provisions of the university acts, statutes and ordinances...has not been taken seriously".br The DUTA further alleged that the V-C made an ordinance using emergency powers to introduce "some aspects of the semester system" in violation of Section 31(1) of the University Act.br The DUTA said it would continue with its agitation and has "further decided to intensify its struggle by mean of strikes and protests".br This is an Appeal to the students to support the struggle.
