It's something you don't see every day. Such big pieces often end up in private hands, where they vanish forever."br br Melting this mega nugget is out of the question -- it's worth much more in its present form as a collector's item.br br [Bruno Higgins, Crystal Art Gallery Owner]:br "Nuggets above one kilo are very, very difficult to find, and worldwide you can count them on one hand. Whereas these are, or have been found."br br So, the joy of holding it just once is big.br br [Visitor]:br "Practical. It still fits in a trouser pocket."br br The nuggets are found in a purity of 22 to 24 karats, says Maya Oberholzer.br br She melts gold and casts her own jewelry pieces, as a hobby.br br [Maya Oberholzer, Sculptor]:br "You look into the material, you look into the midmost of the material and change it. In fact it is a divine thing that you influence."br br The future for this nugget is not clear but if possible, it will be sold to a museum.br br That way the public will be allowed to enjoy it, and it will be less likely to vanish into private hands.br br An offer of three-quarters of million Swiss francs has been put forward for the nugget.br br That's four times the price of regular gold.
