Spiritual Survival in the Arctic

Spiritual Survival in the Arctic

This is an alternative to Mary Gen Salmon's 2003 article: Spiritual Survival in the Arctic:br Atxam Taligisniikangis of the Aleutian Islands. The authors introduction to the Atxam had needless denigration of many Native Alaskans. The Atxam are beautiful and their history is tragic, however, looking closely at the worldview of the Alaskan indigenous, unity is a core belief. It is my belief one is not better by suffering more or less than another, nor to raise one up, stating the rest have fallen. The introduction is unfair, and as it is cited by students, I feel there needs to be another view.
