The 2008 Rip Curl Cup was held in Bali, on August 26 & as well as being part of the ISC calendar it doubled as the Rip Curl Pro Search Trials. Kuta local Komang 'Gogo' Sujaya won the event and the "wildcard ticket" into the Rip Curl Pro Search main event.
