Mary J. Blige's journey continues

The so-called queen of R&B maintains her throne.br Mary J. Blige continues to share her world in her new album "My Life II..."br Blige says the album reflects the growth she's had since volume one of the CD.br SOUNDBITE: Mary J. Blige, singer, saying (English):br "We've grown and we've evolved and we have understanding about what life is and right now, with so much war and recession and people doing bad and people feeling bad about their lives, I just felt that it was an appropriate time to give something like this to the world."br The album's first single, "258" is currently moving up the R&B charts - something not always easy in a field dominated by younger artists.br But Blige doesn't see them as competition; she instead chooses to learn from the newbies.br SOUNDBITE: Mary J. Blige, singer, saying:br "I don't close my ears to what's going on. I don't close my ears to any generation. I don't try to do what they're doing, but I let them know that I'm listening and I don't mind crossing my world with their world to come up with something even newer."br With more than 50 million albums under her belt, Blige obviously has no problem understanding her audience.br "My Life II" hits stores on November 29th.br Alicia Powell, Reuters.
