Because the parents are a child's ideal (as they are growing up) one of two things occur, either the child accepts the philosophies of the parent as it is (and the children's personalities are killed) or the child grows up with hisher own views and confronts the parents because of the contradictions they have seen between the parents andor between parents and the child's own feelings. This lecture describes both what parents have to do as children are growing up and what children have to do when they are grown up to have a good relationship with their parents.
