Egyptians vote in run-off poll

Egyptians return to the polls to cast their ballots in run-off parliamentary elections.br Polls opened Monday morning in nine provinces, where voters will choose between 52 individual candidates who will occupy a third of the 498 seats in the lower house once two more rounds of the complicated voting process end in January.br The run-offs will pit 24 members of the ultra-conservative Islamist al-Nour Party against the more moderate Muslim Brotherhood.br In Cairo's working-class neighbourhood of Shubra, the lines began early in the morning.br One voter is optimistic about the vote.br (SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) VOTER, SAMIR ABDEL SAYYED, SAYING:br "It's very good, the process is good and in the interests of the country and hopefully we will see a good result."br Polling stations will close at 7pm local time.
