Sexy cop, nurse and librarian costumes are just lame attempts at getting attention. And guys, don't be Charlie Sheen just so you can use it as an excuse to do cocaine and run amok. Political costumes can be a hit, but avoid going as the GOP Front-runner. You'll be changing your mask every 5 minutes. Lastly, don't be an outplayed horror movie cliche.
