Elena Bykova, winner of the Whitley Award donated by the Scottish Friends of the WFN is working in Uzbekistan, on the desert-steppes between the Aral and Caspian Seas, on safeguarding the critically-endangered saiga antelope. Her work includes restoring local pride in traditions associated with the animal.
