ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)br STORY: Steven Spielberg's film "War Horse" had its UK premiere in London's Leicester Square on Sunday (January 8).br The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended the premiere and met people involved in the making of the film - including its director Steven Spielberg. It was the first royal premiere for the Duchess of Cambridge.br Based on Michael Morpurgo's novel, which also spawned the Tony-winning play, the film follows the saga of Joe, a racehorse that's trained for farm work under the loving tutelage of Albert after his drunken father Ted overpays for the animal at auction.br World War I separates Joey and Albert. Joey is captured by Germans, forced to lug around heavy artillery, briefly hidden by a French dairy farmer and tangled in barbed wire, while Albert faces the grim realities of life on the battlefield.br Fans also got to see Joey the horse - the thoroughbred was driven from its stables to face fans and photographers on the red carpet in London.
