In the backdrop of a flurry of diplomatic activity, Israeli and Palestinian officials met in the framework of the bi monthly meetings stipulated at Annapolis. The sides are due to meet in a few weeks time but it is doubtful whether any real progress will be made until US President George Bush arrives in the region.
