Despite petitions to the High Court of Justice and calls to wait for the Winograd Committee of Inquiry's interim findings, Prime Minister Olmert and Defense Minster Peretz have gone ahead with the appointment of Major General (res.) Gabi Ashkenazi to the post of IDF Chief of Staff.
