A French court has upheld a ruling against the Church of Scientology for cajoling members into spending large amounts of money for questionable remedies. br br In 2009 the church was fined 600,000 euros for 'organised fraud'; four of its leaders were given suspended jail sentences.br br In 1995 a parliamentary report classified the church as a 'dangerous cult'.
