Three more Tibetans set themselves on fire last Friday in Serthar County in China's southwest Sichuan province.

This is the latest in a succession of self-immolations done in protest the Chinese regime's oppressive rule in the Tibetan Autonomous Region.

On Sunday, Radio Free Asia cited three independent sources stating that one died while the other two were seriously injured.

Serthar is one of the three areas where Chinese forces opened fire on unarmed protesters on the first and second day of Chinese New Year—killing at least six Tibetans.

Following the brutal crackdown, the Chinese regime tightened security in the region and blocked foreign media correspondents from reporting.

The regime also sent a large number of armed forces to the region, increased patrolling, and cut off communications.

The latest incident brings the total number of Buddhist monks, nuns, and other Tibetans who have self-immolated to at least 19 since March of last year.
