LA LOGE (BalconyTV)

BALCONYTV.COM 14112007 br PRESENTED BY PAULINE FREEMAN br La Loge, 'Resistance is Futile': A Brief History La Loge first came into existence in St. Petersburg in 1895 when two drunks, Lynne & Daragh, realised that they could exploit the Marxist-Leninist zeitgeist, then so prevalent among the emerging urban proletariat. Hiding their natural disgust at having to earn an honest living under a thin veneer of egalitarian rhetoric, they decided to ply their wares in the local taverns, playing rabble-rousing music for the drunken masses. In this way they encouraged the workers to spend on vodka the money that should have gone towards feeding their families. The tavern keepers in turn paid a few kopeks to our heroes for their services. Unfortunately, despite their best efforts to halt the revolution by keeping the workers too drunk to revolt, the workers were so naturally revolting that the regime fell anyway and our heroes were forced to flee St. Petersburg with the help of a passing temporal anomaly. They emerged in Dublin in the early 21st century, where they continue to amuse and horrify in equal measure.
