Jeff Cleghorn, Divorce Attorney, on Child Custody

Jeff Cleghorn, a partner at Kitchens, New & Cleghorn, LLC () talks about child custodybr br Transcript:br br Custody issues are usually what matters most to clients in the divorce setting. Moms and dads understandably love their kids, so what happens to their children after a divorce is a paramount concern to every client that comes to our firm who has children. The law in Georgia is generally fairly straightforward as to child custody. The law says that the custody decision is based on what is in the best interest of the child. With that in mind, we meet with and work with our clients to develop facts in their case that are strengthening to the client's position that it would be in the child's best interest for the client to have custody of the child or to have more time, more parenting time or visitation if you will with the child versus lefts. These are kind of the standard factors that go into our calibrating how to handle a child custody case.
