Shin Bet confirms gunman was in Israel

An investigation by Israeli intelligence revealed that Mohamed Merah,br the gunmen responsible for last week's Toulouse shootings, spent timebr in Israel and Palestinian territories over a year and a half ago.br According to the Shin Bet, Merah entered Israel after crossing thebr Allenby Bridge from Jordan in September 2010 where the Shin Betbr investigated him without finding any suspicious information. Merahbr was allowed to enter the country. Merah stayed in Israel for a totalbr of three days, during which it is unknown whether he was involved inbr any terror-related activity. Furthermore, Merah visited Israel beforebr his stay in Afghanistan or Pakistan, thus there was no informationbr that could indicate whether or not he constituted a security threat.
