2012 has come to an end - at least for the people of Pisa, who ushered in the start of 2013 on the 25th March. Several hundred years ago, the city, famous for its leaning tower, had its own calendar, which considered the date of the Annunciation, the 25th March, as the first day of the year. Now the tradition is being revived.
