At a Foreign Ministry conference on "Jewish refugees from Arabbr nations," Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon urged the Arab world tobr recognize its historic responsibility for displacing Jews who oncebr lived in Arab nations and making them de-facto refugees. Ayalon saidbr that 50 of Israelis are refugees and descendants of refugees frombr those Arab nations. He added that Israel will insist that Palestinianbr refugees be absorbed in the future Palestinian state-- the same waybr Jewish refugees were absorbed in the State of Israel.
