This combination of local and universal, personal and political, not without certain glumness and bitterness, is shaped in multiple stage forms in a discreetly stylised play by the Bochum theatre. With certain dramaturgical interventions in relationship to the Belgrade premiere, in the set framed with live numbers of old town music from this area, the characters acquire a certain sharpness, persuasiveness, liveliness, and the director finds an adequate balance between the realistic and the miraculous, rational and irrational, unambiguous and ambivalent.
