Nigerians queue up for scarce fuel - 22 Dec 09

Nigeria is Africa's largest oil producer, but for many Nigerians, it can take up to four days of waiting in long queues to get petrol at the regulated price.br br The government has fixed the price of fuel at the pump at about 20 US cents per liter. But because all four of Nigeria's oil refineries have broken down, the country has resorted to importing fuel.br br As Al Jazeera's Yvonne Ndege reports from Lagos, this has slowed the availability of fuel at the pump and created the false impression of scarcity.
