Businesses in the Thai capital are suffering because of the ongoing standoff between the government and the so-called red shirt protesters.br br High-end hotels were already suffering before the violence broke out, but now the backpacker district in and around the popular Khao San Road has taken a hit as well, with many estimating that 90 per cent of tourists have fled the area.br br As Aela Callan reports from Bangkok, it could take a while before business can resume as usual.
