Lauryn Hill has been charged by the U.S. government with failing to file income tax returns for several years. The five-time Grammy winner earned more than 1.6 million dollars in 2005, 2006 and 2007 and reportedly failed to file returns for all of them. She is scheduled to appear in court on June 29.

Carrie Underwood took home her third video of the year award at the CMT Awards. The former "American Idol" winner also won for collaboration of the year for "Remind Me," giving the singer a total of nine CMT wins since 2006.

Despite a week of slow sales, John Mayer notched his second week at the top of the Billboard 200 chart with his album "Born and Raised." The album sold 65,000 copies to maintain its number one standing - barely staying ahead of the number two album, Adele's "21" with 58,000 copies sold.

Finally, Elvis Presley will be virtually resurrected as a hologram, being re-created by the same team who brought rapper Tupac Shakur back to life at this year's Coachella Music Festival. The late king of rock'n'roll will be brought back across various platforms, including live shows, TV and online.
