IntelliVision 2 controller review. Classic Game Room reviews the IntelliVision II Controller for the IntelliVision 2 released in 1983. The Intellivision controller that came with the Intellivision in 1980 was bad enough, but annoyingly Mattle created a similar but even worse controller for the sequel, the Intellivision 2. The bizarre thumbstick disc pad thing doesn't feel terribly responsive and the awkward fire jump buttons on the side of the controller are uncomfortable and difficult to press. Sadly, some amazing Intellivision games are marred by this poorly executed telephone meets garage door opener controller.
