Mourners gather in South Korea, saying goodbye to a controversial church leader.br br Sun Myung Moon, who founded the Unification Church, died on Monday (September 3) at the age of 92.br br The self-declared messiah left behind a vast business empire and a legacy of mass weddings.br br Twelve altars are open across South Korea for people to pay their respects.br br SOUNDBITE: 42-YEAR-OLD ANGOLAN FOLLOWER FREDERIK DOMINGO SAYING (English):br br "When I heard the news, I was really really like lost, you know. Yes, father, I feel like I lost my own father."br br SOUNDBITE: 53-YEAR-OLD SOUTH KOREAN FOLLOWER JO SUNG-SOOK SAYING (Korean):br br "I felt like the earth was falling down - I could not describe what I felt. What can I say here, where our true parent on earth passed away. My heart is still trembling and I was overwhelmed with grief."br br It's not just parishioners who have been paying tribute to Moon.br br North Korean leader Kim Jong-un also sent a condolence letter, praising Moon's efforts to rebuild relations on the Korean peninsular.br br Moon's body is lying in state until his funeral on September 15.
