The Global Indian Music Academy (GiMA) awards returns this year, in its third ,edition to celebrate talent across genres in Indian music. Let's take a look at the nominees in the Film Music category:
Leading the list is Imtiaz Ali's Rockstar that got a whopping 11 nominations. Academy Award winner A R Rahman, who composed the music in the film, got seven nominations.
Shah Rukh Khan's magnum opus Ra.One and Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara garnered eight nominations each.
Ayushmann Khurrana, star of the sleeper hit Vicky Donor, was nominated for Best Debut Composer and Best Lyricist & Singer. This young man is rather talented.
Hip hop artist Akon also got a nomination for his song Chammak Chalo from the film Ra.One.
Bollywood was well represented at the event with appearances by Sophie Choudry, Suchitra Pillai and others.
