Voters give Romney the edge in first debate

The morning after the first presidential debate many voters give the edge to Republican candidate Mitt Romney in his first face to face match up with U.S. President Barack Obama.br br (SOUNDBITE) (English) TED KNIKER, OAK HILL VIRGINIA RESIDENT AND EXECUTIVE OF A GOVERNMENT WATCHDOG GROUP, SAYING:br br "I did watch the debate. I felt that Mitt Romney did very well. I thought he came across as more specific in his answers. I felt that President Obama lacked in his ability to connect."br br (SOUNDBITE) (English) CAROLENE CHARLES, WASHINGTON, D.C. RESIDENT AND DIRECTOR OF A CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER IN WASHINGTON, D.C., SAYING:br br "I think that Romney did a nice job articulating his points. I think he took the time to have what he was going to say kind of mapped out in his mind"br br (SOUNDBITE) (English) JOHN GREENBAUGH, A FAIRFAX STATION, VIRGINIA RESIDENT AND AN ATTORNEY FOR THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENTbr br REPORTER ASKING (OFF-CAMERA): "Did you watch it, and was there a winner?"br br (SOUNDBITE) (English) JOHN GREENBAUGH SAYING:br br "I thought Romney won. (Why?) "I thought he was more articulate. I thought he was more to the point. I thought he threw Obama off his message."br br With the election a little more than a month away, Romney was in need of a debate victory to help him put his campaign back on a positive footing after a rocky few weeks.
