Before the Libyan revolution, Bab al-Azizia, or The Splendid Gate, served as the military barracks and compound of ousted dictator Moamer Kadhafi in the southern suburbs of the capital Tripoli. One year after his death, the six-square-kilometre complex has become a landfill infested with mice and rats.
