STORY: A road in Southwark, London was transformed into an illuminated street party on Wednesday night (November 28), with international DJ deadmau5 performing atop a pulsing neon-lit building.

The Canadian DJ - real name Joel Zimmerman - joined forces with Finnish phone maker Nokia for the event to launch its new Lumia smartphone. Nokia rigged every inch of Flat Iron Square in Southwark, using specially developed software, to come alive in sequence to a deadmau5 set. People arriving in the square saw just a normal London street, and as the music started the technology allowed it to be 'played' like a musical instrument.

During the event deadmau5 was asked to rate out of ten how much he loved London. The superstar DJ gave London an eight: "But the two points are deducted for weather. And food," he said.

The stunt comes a year after Nokia created the biggest light show the capital had ever seen - a 4D projection that covered Millbank Tower.
