Take a tour of the mysterious Plain of Jars in Laos.

The world is full of mysterious manmade and natural landmarks.

One ancient site continues to baffle researchers.

The Plain of Jars in north-east Laos consists of thousands of cylinder shaped rocks strewn along the countryside. The rocks look like open jars facing upwards. While the archeological site serves as a major tourist attraction in South East Asia, historians are still not sure about the exact age of the jars, where they came from and what the importance or symbolism is.

Travelers have the option of taking a 3 day and 2 night tour of the area. There are three main sites where the jars reside. They are estimated to be about 2,000 years old and some believe that the jars served as urns while others think they were used as drinking vessels.

Visitors can walk with a guide and explore the perplexing mystery of the land. What do you think would have been the purpose for these jars?
