Soldiers and officers of the Indian army pay tribute to two of their men killed on Tuesday in a firefight on the military control line of Kashmir.

The body of one soldier was said to have been found "badly mutiliated" in a forested area on the side controlled by India.

India has blamed the incident on Pakistan.

Shootouts and small skirmishes between the two countries are common along the 740-kilometre disputed border, despite a ceasefire and a recent improvement in relations between India and Pakistan.

Islamabad has denied the latest Indian allegations.

A Pakistani military spokesman said the Indian claims were "propaganda" aimed at diverting attention from a clash along the border two days earlier in which Pakistan said one of its soldiers was killed - a claim denied in turn by India

India and Pakistan have fought three wars since their independence in 1947, two of them over Kashmir.
