Revised German GDP outlook for 2013, and associated profit taking, helped push the global markets lower in overnight trading. A handful of positive US economic reports, and better-than-expected earnings from Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan Chase, helped reverse the downward market trend coming into the open of the US trading session.
