Watch more and discuss:br br The Norwalk Police Dept. held its first ever gun buyback program Saturday, and rounded up a total of 18 guns to be destroyed by state police. br   br "A lot of elderly people have been turning in their guns, just because they don't want them to fall in the wrong hands," said Lt. Praveen John. br   br Overall, police collected 12 long guns and 6 handguns.  $925 worth of Visa gift cards were given out, leaving over $4,000 leftover from the anonymous donation the police received to run the buyback br   br "We were expecting a good turnout," said John, who added the department expected about 15 guns in total.  "Especially since this is the first time doing the gun buyback program, this was a good turnout." br   br Lt. John said he expects the department to host another buyback in the near future.
