Watch more and discuss:br br On the morning Feb. 14th, an expected 2,000 people will march in Hartford in support of gun control laws. br br "We have been able to galvanize leaders from around the state," said March for Change co-founder Meg Staunton. br br The march is spearheaded by two local women, Staunton and Nancy Lefkowitz, both of Fairfield, who want safer gun laws in Connecticut. br br Those laws include banning large capacity ammunition and installing universal background checks, according to Staunton. br br The two have been holding information sessions around the state, like they did Tuesday at the United Church of Rowayton. Staunton says the March for Change has a simple message. br br "Reach out to your local legislators. Write letters, call them, e-mail them," she says. "We need to be louder than the NRA (National Rifle Association). br br Staunton says Gov. Dannel Malloy is expected to speak during the march, along with a host of others, including a survivor from the Virginia Tech shooting in 2007. She says the march isn't just about what happened in Newtown in December. br br "These mass shootings -- they are relatively infrequent," she says.
