Mountain Dew announces a fruit-flavored breakfast drink.

So you're mulling over breakfast options - eggs, bagel, cereal....mountain dew?

Yes, that may be possible soon based on PepsiCo's recent unveiling of a new drink - Mountain Dew Kickstart. It is reported to be a juice drink with added caffeine.

An expert in the beverage industry, Jeff Klineman states “For a long time before energy drinks, there was Mountain Dew. It was the official drink of gamers and truckers before Monster and Rockstar came along.”

According to a Mountain Dew spokesperson, the company did extensive research to come up with the right concoction. Kickstart contains 5% fruit juice and 92 milligrams of caffeine in a 16-ounce can.

On February 25th, 2013 the cans will arrive in stores, available in two flavors – energizing orange citrus and fruit punch.

Several years ago, an unlikely morning beverage dubbed Gatorade AM hit the market. The company wanted buyers to “Get the Most out of Your Morning Workout”.

The drink originally came out in two flavors - "Orange-Strawberry" and "Tropical-Mango".
