Over 100 million faulty condoms are recalled.

Recently, large batch of condoms has been seized in Ghana.

The Chinese-made condoms were pulled due to laboratory tests which revealed that they were faulty. A Food and Drugs Authority spokesperson stated “There are holes in them and... the condoms burst easily.”

To make matters even worse, it’s hard to determine who got a hold of the condoms as they were given away for free as part of an HIV/Aids prevention campaign. About 200 million of the less-than-safe condoms were distributed into Ghana prior to the recall.

An alert has been issued to citizens, informing them of the faults, which could mean wearers may have been subjected to sexually transmitted diseases and possibly unwanted pregnancies.

Last year, South Africa recalled 1.35 million condoms, which were given out for the ruling African National Congress party's 100-year anniversary festivities.

They were distributed to restaurants, bars and hotels, for visitors to take. The recall was issued following complaints that they were leaky and would burst during intercourse.
