Make-up artist Val Garland talks to Nick Knight about painting models for SHOWstudio's Make It Up fashion film from 2002. The work saw Garland use a dozen bodies of different sizes to enact her wildest abstract fantasies in maquillage. Les Desmoiselles d'Avignon met Hans Bellmer's Poupèes as the twelve blonde models were made up in a vivacious, painterly fashion performance.
