ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)
Militants in Pakistan launched a rocket-propelled grenade at trucks loaded with fuel and other supplies for NATO forces in Afghanistan late on Thursday (December 8) sending some 29 vehicles up in flames.
The oil tankers were parked at a terminal near the southwestern city of Quetta in Baluchistan province, waiting for clearance to travel to Afghanistan.
Pakistan suspended NATO supply routes after a November 26 cross-border NATO air attack killed 24 Pakistani soldiers.
On Friday (December 9) morning, smoke still rose from more than two dozen burnt-out tankers.
Thousands of trucks loaded with supplies are now parked in various locations across Pakistan.
Idle drivers of trucks carrying fuel and other supplies to the neighbouring country fear being attacked by Pakistani Taliban militants who oppose cooperation with NATO.
