Devastation etched on the faces of these relatives of the victims of a plane crash in Indonesia.

The Russian plane carrying 45 passengers on an exhibition flight to drum up sales crashed at this site in the mountainous West Java province.

Indonesian rescue teams have found bodies but no survivors in the wreckage.

At this news conference, official rescue chiefs said they have now identified 12 victims.

But the identification process - which uses DNA samples from family members - could take some time as many of the victims' direct families are not in Indonesia.

"Up until now we have taken 28 DNA samples from passengers on board. Many of them who are here are not direct family."

The Superjet 100 aircraft went missing on Wednesday about 40 miles south of Jakarta.

Among the victims were Indonesian reporters and businessmen, eight Russians, a French citizen and an American.
