Please help? - So by boyfriend and I were in this accident and his car insurance only pays up to $100,000 for the passengers injuries. Considering it was an auto accident, legally my health insurance doesn't have to touch it. We have a lawyer but I want an opinion before the time that we meet with him. He wants to get $250,000 for pain and suffering, current bills, and future problems. If we do this, anything over the $100K will come out of my boyfriend's pocket. However, if we do sue him, he's going to file bankruptcy. All he has in his name is a $2,000 truck and a $10K motorcycle, which will be taken. Will we get out 250K if he files for bankruptcy or will we just get what he has in value in his name?
Please help this is killing me.
