http://www.malenegrotrian.com | The Malene Grotrian Design studio in Vancouver, BC has currently converted part of the studio to an art gallery showing works by Malene Grotrian. About a dozen pieces of art are tastefully arranged on the walls, creating a calming atmosphere away from traffic and noise. Malene expresses as she does with her fashion and art with the same obsession of using varying textures and colours. Colour is personal and subjective. Malene understands how colours behave, how they relate to each other, how they affect one another when they are mixed or applied side by side. Her favourite medium is acrylic because of its versatility to build up rich and varied textural surfaces. Most of the paintings that are showcased here in the gallery are made using acrylic paint.
