[] I saw one race where the announcers were talking about the new brakes on the Chevy cars. They were huge! He couldn't understand how they fit all that brake gear in the rim. For a while, the new brakes were helping the Chevy's have a good day. Top 10 was pretty GM-heavy. Then, one after another, they started having random blowouts, taking cars out of the running pretty effectively.
Turns out those brakes were generating enough heat to expand the tires enough that the seal against the rim would fail. It was crazy. I laughed like maniac though, because I root for Ford.
