Owners dressed their pets up in adorable Christmas-themed contest and paraded them in front of a crowd of animal lovers in Lima on Sunday. The capital of Peru hosted a very special Christmas pet parade that proved that the holiday spirit is not just for people.

A whole host of festively dressed animals, from turtles to rabbits, took to the stage with their owners, at this year's 'Pet Noel' parade, held in Lima's San Isidro district. However the canines were were the most festively dressed - owners decked out their dogs in all sorts of holiday-themed costumes, including turkeys, reindeers and even Christmas trees.

Not to be outdone, the turtles slowly but surely made their way to the parade podium and wowed the crowd, showing off all sorts of fun holiday themed ornaments and costumes.

Cute bunnies dressed in even cuter outfits pranced on the stage as well, bouncing their way into the hearts of the audience. However, it was not all fun and cuteness at the Pet Noel Parade. The event was held to raise money and collect supplies such as pet food, beds and accessories for the district's local animal shelter. The festive pets had a great time as they wished the audience a happy howlidays.
