★ Recipes / Directions ★\r
\r
Spiced Chai \r
\r
Start with 2 cups (or one standard mason jar size) of Darjeeling or regular black tea\r
1 tsp of ground cinnamon\r
1.5 tsp of ground ginger\r
2 tbs green cardamom pods - I found these in the bulk bin of my health food store\r
1 tbs of black peppercorns\r
1 tas whole cloves\r
\r
To serve: 1 teaspoon of tea for every 8 oz of water. Steep for 5 minutes. Add milk and sugar to taste. \r
\r
Lavender Chamomile Tea\r
\r
First you want to get lavender buds – clean and remove the stems\r
And then chamomile flowers – also found this at my health food store\r
Then just combine the two in a mason jar, equal parts\r
Gently shake to combine\r
\r
To serve: 2 tablespoons of tea for every cup of water. Steep for 4-6 minutes. \r
\r
DIY Custom Coasters \r
\r
Ceramic tiles (home goods store or craft store)\r
Paint if desired - I used acrylic paint \r
I let that dry and then applied one coat of mod podge\r
Add photo of choice \r
Then cover with another layer of mod podge\r
Once that dries (you can use a blow dryer to speed up the process) then glue a piece of felt to the back - this will ensure they wont scratch the table\r
And then finish with a clear sealant top coat \r
\r
I think the above 3 DIYs go well together in a themed tea gift box: homemade teas, your coasters and then some pretty teacups and a teapot with an infuser. I think this is a gift that any mom would love! \r
\r
Bathtime Pamper Themed DIYS\r
Vanilla Rose Bath Soak\r
\r
Start with Epsom salt- however much to fill your container\r
And then add the petals of one rose for each cup of salt\r
Then add about 1 teasppon of vanilla fragrance oil or vanilla extr\r
Roughly chop in a food processor \r
\r
Aromatherapy Bubble Bath\r
\r
Start with one cup of unscented castile soap – this will give the bubbles\r
½ cup of vegetable glycerin – this is a skin softener \r
1 teaspoon of vanilla extr\r
and then add the essential oil of your choice, this is a lavender blend, about 15 drops\r
Stir this together and you can add a little water if you need to, depending on the size of your container\r
This bubble bath does not have any sulfates, which are in most bubble baths and can irritate the skin\r
\r
Sugar Scrub Bar!\r
\r
Natural exfoliation and in a bar form makes it much easier to use!\r
Start with you melted soap base, this is from my craft store and you can melt it in the microwave for about 1 min. This is two cups worth\r
Add ¼ cup coconut oil\r
If you want it scented add 15-20 drops of your essential oil of choice, I went with orange\r
Then add your soap coloring if you want to color it\r
Now its time for your sugar, you want to use coarse sugar like this one\r
I added 1.5 cups, you want it to be slightly thick consistency. If the mixture starts to firm up then reheat for 15 seconds so you can pour it. \r
Pour into your molds and allow to dry for several hours. \r
\r
Gift idea: package up your DIY bubble bath, bath soak and sugar scrub bar\r
And with that you can include cute slippers, a bath pillow, a pretty bath robe and my personal favorite: a bath caddy! This one is from Amazon, just search bath caddy.\r
\r
TAGS: A lot of you have been asking how I made the handmade with love tags. To make the tags I used plain tags from the craft store and just printed out what I wanted to say and taped them onto the tag. The font used was KG Eyes Wide Open that I donloaded here: . On the ual containers I taped down some washi tape to add some color and then I put on the label and then covered it with a piece of clear tape so it would be waterproof\r
